The play is wonderful and funny without requiring you to be an expert on Shakespeare’s plays or Ancient Greece. However, if you want to catch all of the literary references brush up on ancient Greek myths, and Shakespeare’s plays, especially A Midsummer Night’s Dream. But remember, you don’t need to do that to get it, it’s just a little extra icing on the cake.
